Instructional Climbing

The amount of material covered depends on the course length and the persons learning.  Technical equipment is provided.  Climbing takes place on our own Drapers Bluff which includes various sized boulders for everyone from beginners to the most experienced climber.

Basics

This course is designed for persons with no rock climbing experience.
This course includes:

 Climbing movement
 Rope management
 Communication
 Top rope set up
 Rappelling
 Belaying
 Knots

Beyond Basics

This class is for participants who have taken our basic class or who have a solid formation of rock climbing knowledge.
This course includes:

 Placing natural protection
 Belay escape
 Multi-pitch climbing
 Multi-pitch rappelling
 Belay anchors
 Ascending rope
 Belaying a leader

Lead Climbing Course

Participants should have a strong background of top rope climbing and feel comfortable following 5.7  One year of climbing experience is recommended.  This course includes:

 Natural protection placement
 Leading strategies
 Rope management
 Building belay anchors
 Fall control
 Racking
 Belay techniques
 Belay escape

Guided Rock Climbing

From private outings to large groups, we have climbs to suit your needs.  Guided climbing days are for individuals wanting customized instruction and for our clients who are between courses.  The material covered is based on client needs, and as always, technical equipment is provided.
